Binbot Version 1.1.1 Released
October 30, 2007: Binbot version 1.1.1 released. New features include a file unsplit tool, the ability to filter articles based on download status, and additional configuration options for default page selection.
The file unsplit tool allows files that have been split into multiple files (typically named .001, .002, etc.) to be reassembled into the original file. It can be launched from the menu Tools > Unsplit Tool, or by opening a split file from the menu File > Unsplit..., or by double-clicking on a split file in the Downloads tab. It also supports drag-and-drop, and automatically finds all pieces belonging to the same file.
The ability to filter articles based on download status allows for example previously downloaded articles to be hidden from the list of articles. This feature is available as a new category named Download Status in the filter configuration screens (accessible from the Tools menu).
This release also allows the page selection policy to be configured. The default policy is still to select the first new page of headers when a newsgroup is selected, but additional options are now also available. These settings are available from the menu Tools > Settings... on the Headers tab.
