Linux Installation Guide

This tutorial will guide you through the steps to install Binbot on your Linux system.

  1. It is recommended that you uninstall all existing versions of Binbot on your system before installing a new version of Binbot. To avoid losing all your settings, make sure you answer No when asked whether to delete all Binbot configuration data.
    Confirm Delete Screenshot
  2. Ensure that the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version 1.5 or later is installed on your system. If not, visit http://java.com/getjava to download and install the latest JRE release for your system.
  3. Extract the compressed archive in the directory where you want to install Binbot:
    tar xzf binbot2.0b3.tgz
This will create a Binbot subdirectory of that directory.
  4. Go to that directory and launch Binbot:
    cd binbot2.0b3
    ./binbot.sh
